History |
Somaschini S.p.A. was founded in 1922 in Milan. In 1942, during the last world war, was moved to the quieter Trescore Balneario (Bg).
During following years the company has always improved his products and processes by changing the production from shaved spur gears to ground gears (1963) and with the introduction of a department dedicated to the production of lapped bevel gear pair (1960).
In the early nineties the company has acquired a specific know-how for the production of timing gears and balance gears for high precision engines and of spindles for the machine tool.
In 2007 has been established Somaschini Automotive, a very high automated company for the production of timing gears and balance gears for big series engines.
The positive results achieved in Italy in terms of both production efficiency and quality level have encouraged the industrial group SOMASCHINI to go outside its national borders and establish in USA the South Bend Gears (2010), a company specialized in mass production of ground gears.
